SHOTTON STEEL junior rugby players are attempting a sponsored “Lap the Pitch” challenge on Sunday.
Between 10am and 2pm, the venture will raise valuable funding to help support the club’s junior section. All players and families will be running, walking, hopping, skipping or jumping around the full-size rugby pitch, to see how many laps the club can do over the course of four hours.
“Shotton Steel RFC is renowned for being family-friendly, inclusive, and community-focused,” said a club spokesperson.
“The minis and juniors cater to children aged two to 16, offering training sessions, games, and support for matches with local teams.
“Based at Ty Calon in Queensferry, the club also helps to support girls-only rugby, rugby in schools across the region and is home to both men’s and ladies’ senior teams. As a long-established club in the area and with the objective of “kids playing rugby”, the junior section has seen continued growth in recent years with numbers continuing to rise.”
