A SUPER Sunday at The Racecourse is next up for women, but the important thing is starting to pick up points.

Steve Dale’s Reds return to the SToK Cae Ras for their home clash with Swansea City and Wrexham are still searching for their first Adran Premier League point of the season.

Last week’s disappointing 3-0 defeat away to Briton Ferry Llansawel followed a promising showing in an opening day 2-0 loss to defending champions Cardiff City.

Dale told the club’s YouTube channel: “It’s important now that we address what’s gone wrong (at Briton Ferry) and move on.

“It’s a big week coming up and we have to start getting points on the board.

“It’s huge. Take away where we’re playing next week, you know.

“Swansea are an established side and we didn’t get the results we wanted against them last season.

“So, again, we’ve got another point to prove in terms of closing the gap between ourselves and them.

“But, yeah, it’s important that we bounce back and we’ve got to bounce back quickly, now.”

It’s been a tough start to their second season back in the top flight for the Reds, but they’ll be hoping to attack Swansea in a similar manner to when they went toe-to-toe with the multiple champions on a number of occasions last season.

Unsure how they would fare on their step-up to the Adran Premier, Wrexham played out a 3-3 draw with the Swans at The Rock on the opening day of the campaign.

The sides also met at The Racecourse during the second portion of the season and while a stoppage time goal made sure of a 3-2 win for Swansea, it was a day to remember for midfielder Lili Jones, who cracked in a brilliant strike from all of 40 yards.

Kick-off on Sunday will be at 5.10pm.

In a big tussle, early season leaders The New Saints visit Cardiff City, while Briton Ferry Llansawel will defend their unbeaten record at home to Cardiff Met.

The remaining match sees Barry playing host to Aberystwyth.

Connah’s Quay Nomads are aiming for a hat-trick of North East Wales FA Women’s Cups and they will open their new quest on Sunday.

Jordan Parry’s in-form side, yet to play a league game yet this season, begin the defence of their trophy at home to Llangefni Town.

Airbus, last season’s runners-up, have home advantage versus Y Felinheli, while Coedpoeth United welcome Bangor.

Other tie: Llandudno v Kinmel Bay.

Betty Pickering Cup: Denbigh Town v Caernarfon Town; Henllan v Amlwch Town; Berriew v Trearddur Bay.

There’s one match in Adran U19s North this evening.

The New Saints, who opened their season with a 6-0 win over defending champions Connah’s Quay Nomads, head to Wrexham.

In the first round of the Welsh Cup, last season’s runners-up Wrexham head to Llanystumdwy.

There are also away days for Connah’s Quay Nomads and Airbus, versus Llandudno and NFA respectively, with ties scheduled for October 20.

Other northern section ties: Y Felinheli v Llangefni; Rhyl 1879 v Aberystwyth; Pwllheli v The New Saints.
