LEE FOWLER admits he doesn’t heap praise on players all that often, but he has been impressed with goalkeeper Jack Flint this season.

Flint has played his part during a three-match unbeaten run which has seen the Silkmen pull clear of the Cymru Premier League’s bottom-two and they will be looking to stretch this sequence at home to Caernarfon Town this evening.

After Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Briton Ferry Llansawel, Flint boss Fowler told S4C’s Sgorio: “He’s an outstanding goalkeeper and I’m not one of these deluded managers who heap praise on players.

“We’ve recruited really well in this summer and Jack’s been, for me what I’ve seen in this league, he’s been a very, very top, top talent and he’s just got to keep doing what he’s doing.

“We got him in from Bolton and the form he’s showing over the last six, seven games, you know two clean sheets was really good for him and I just wanted another clean sheet (on Saturday).”

Flint made an outstanding triple save during the contest, but he was eventually beaten by Kian Jenkins’ header. Elliott Reeves’ effort midway through the second half had given the Silkmen the lead.

The point sees Flint 10th in the standings, while Caernarfon were in eighth place ahead of last night’s round of matches.
