IT’S now three matches unbeaten for Flint, but they were left disappointed with a 1-1 draw at Briton Ferry Llansawel.
Elliott Reeves (pictured below) netted with an effort midway through the second half and this looked to have Lee Fowler’s side on course for a third win in a row, only for Kian Jenkins’ header to make sure the home side picked up their first point of the campaign.
Asked whether his side should have gathered another three-point haul, Fowler told S4C’s Sgorio: “Yeah, I think so. I think Jack (Flint) made one good save, triple save, and they had an effort in the second half.
“But I think five one-on-one chances with the goalkeeper, we have to be a little bit better and if we take one of them, we take the three points.
“But it was a bit of a subdued game, I think, the first half. Low quality, both teams tired. But, as I said, it will always go down to go on chances, unfortunately.”
Flint are now three points clear of the bottom-two after Aberystwyth Town suffered a 3-0 reverse at home to Haverfordwest County.
Ricky Watts, Ben Ahmun and an own goal confirmed the outcome.
Bala Town and Newtown played out a 2-2 draw at Maes Tegid. Aaron Williams and Jason Oswell had the visitors two-up inside 20 minutes, but replies from Aeron Edwards and Nathan Peate rescued a point for the Lakesiders.
It also ended up even in the meeting between Barry and Caernarfon. Sam Snaith and Louis Lloyd were the respective marksmen in a 1-1 result.
