THINGS couldn’t really have been any tougher for a determined Deestrider.

Nige Parr completed the Yr Wyddfa Snowdon Ultra 50. Known as one of the toughest 50-milers in the UK, the race organised by GB Ultras was shortened slightly to avoid the summit of Yr Wyddfa in high winds.

Parr completed the amended 48.25-mile distance, with nearly 13,500 feet of elevation, in 17 hours and 50 minutes.

Deestriders just love to be in action, whatever the terrain!

Race two of the Wirral multi-terrain series was held at Thurstaston, with Paul Lewtey completing the course in 39.17, followed by Christine Cammillare (40.11), Stuart Brown (41.16), Fred Aird (42.26), Andy Wainwright (43.17), Amanda Scotter (46.47) and Sarah Brown (46.56).

They were joined at the event by clubmates Ally Morrison (47.51), Claire Harper (48.42), Mike Norris (48.53), Alannah O’Brien (49.27), Bonnie Knox (53.14), Jane Blackwell (56.06) and Beverley Goodson (57.03).

Amanda Scotter, Paul Lewtey and Fred Aird all completed the King John’s Castle fell route in 75.59.

Christine Cammillare and Ben the collie make quite the team!

The dynamic duo combined for a third lady runner finish in the Llyn Alwen 11.5k trail and canicross event, finishing in a speedy 54.39.

Runners at the event were Rhian Lloyd (68.09), Andy Wainwright (69.18) and Alannah O’Brien (72.26).

Over at the Lake Vyrnwy half-marathon, Jo Houghton-Davies clocked 1-58.29, with Lindsey McElmeel achieving 2-05.01.

Justin Evans ran a personal best of 50.38 at the Guilden Sutton 10k. He was joined at the race by fellow Deestriders Steph Salusbury (49.19) and Darren Low (52.05).

It was a Wrexham AAC one-two at the most recent Erddig parkrun.

Ryan Davis crossed the line first in a time of 17.13, while clubmate Daniel Weston was the runner-up in 17.35.

Other Wrexham AAC racers in the 240-strong field were David Millington (23.14), Michael Jones (24.15), Megan Hatfield (25.44), Colin Jones (26.56), Tomos Henry Marriott (30.26), Peter Sussex (31.23), Philip Walker (31.41) and John Tipping (56.31).

Wrecsam Tri were represented by Simon Wilde (26.41), Richard Noyes (30.12), Bruce Roberts (30.13), Jacqui Cliff (30.17) and Rob Pullen (31.51).

Deestrider David Temple achieved a personal best of 25.47.

Over at Wepre, Wrecsam Tri’s Ian Houston clocked 20.25 to finish as the runner-up behind Michael Phelan (Warriors Pentathlon & Athletic Club).

Deestriders Rayko Kolev (23.02) and Tomas Kuzmicius (23.02) achieved top-10 spots and they were joined at the race by clubmates Bonnie Knox (36.31), Jane Blackwell (38.15), Bernice Matthews (38.15) and Stuart Brown (52.21).

Buckley Runners’ Paul Kimpton (23.29), Thomas Jones (24.53), Christopher Hunt (25.54), Rob Ashcroft (31.45), Lyn Langford (32.08), Donna Culff (39.36), Susan Formstone (41.35), Nicole van den Wittenboer (41.41) and Rob Mackey (57.48) were also in action. Wrexham AAC’s Mike Robbins crossed the line in 24.56.

Penyffordd Run Club’s Stephen Graham triumphed at Greenfield Valley with a personal best of 22.56.

West Cheshire celebrated a hat-trick of victories at the Guilden Sutton 10k road race. Lewis Morris, Jeff Gifford and Joy Hickman (below) won in their age group categories at the fixture.
