THERE were plenty of thrillers in the U16s Division.

Exhibit A is Chirk Youth’s 6-6 draw with Rhydymwyn. Doubles for Chirk’s Armani Borri, Ashton Shanley and Cameron McKay were cancelled out by Ethan Hogan (3), Ryan Garrett, Oliver Lewis and Finlay Lloyd.

Louie Doleman (5) and Jacob John Duffy made sure of a 6-5 verdict for Holywell Town over Connah’s Quay Town, who went close via Connor Morris-Jones (4) and Gethin Brown, while Borras Park Rangers enjoyed a 7-5 triumph against Ruthin Town, who had Cian Jones (3) and Morgan Lloyd-Thomas (2) on the scoresheet. Keanu Williams (3), Cody Hughes (2), Cameron Polley and Alan Szatkowski won it.

Estevao Gomes (2), Filip Pastwa, Finley Lavery and Razvan Variu confirmed a 5-3 outcome for Aston Park Rangers at Mold Alex, who hit back through Euan Preece (2) and Gethin Jones-Edwards, while Rhys Jones (2), Cai Price, Cruz Jones, Mason Williams and Osian Phillips led Rhos Aelwyd to a 6-0 success at Llay United.

Mixed outcomes went the way of Borras Park Albion sides, with the Yellows 5-1 victors at Mynydd Isa, courtesy of Alfie Brown (3), Jack Cushley and Jaden Thomas.

Meanwhile, Albion’s Blues lost 5-3 versus Brickfield Rangers, despite strikes by Harry Bustin, Stilyan Iliev and Jak Jones. Alex Roberts (2), CJ Richardson (2) and Coel Hooson scored for Brickfield.

It was doubles all-round in Holywell Town’s 4-2 win over Coedpoeth United, Owen Williams and Harvey Roberts on the scoresheet for the visitors, as Joshua Rimmer kept Coedpoeth interested.

Taliesin Tayari, Dylan Whittam and Iwan Evans guided Buckley Town to a 3-0 success at Broughton United, while Jayden Davies, Kyron Evans-Hughes, Ryan Davies and Luca Williams were the scorers as Penycae defeated Deeside Dragons Fire 4-0.

Elsewhere, Rhys Griffiths (3), Jaheim Munetsi (2), Ryan Pearce (2), Alex Rawlinson, Callum Davies and Sam Jones confirmed a 9-1 outcome for Hope Dragons over Brymbo Lodge (Logan Roberts).
