PHIL PARKINSON knows what to expect from Crawley Town but he says Wrexham will leave no-stone unturned in a bid to return to winning ways tomorrow.

The Reds, who took 13 points from opening five games in League One, saw the unbeaten start to the season come to an end on Monday night following a 3-1 defeat at Birmingham City.

Still top of the table, Wrexham will aim to bounce back against Crawley at The Racecourse.

The visitors were promoted from League Two alongside Parkinson's men last season after beating Crewe Alexandra 2-0 in the play-off final.

After winning their first two matches, Crawley have only taken one point from their last three outings and the Reds' boss will still be doing his homework on Town despite knowing a lot about them.

"It is an interesting game," said Parkinson. "Obviously we know Crawley well from last year when we played them twice in the league.

"They had a great season themselves to get promotion through the play-offs.

"They started this season well, results of late haven't been as good but even though they have changed a lot of players over the summer, we know they play a similar way to what they did last year and they are a decent side.

"We will familiarise ourselves with their players and go into the game as prepared as we can be to give ourselves a great chance of keeping our home form going."

Wrexham made a dream start against Birmingham when top scorer Jack Marriott netted his fourth goal in six games after just three minutes but the Blues levelled before the break and then stepped up a gear in the second half, netting twice to secure victory and move up to second place behind Wrexham on goal difference.

"It was an outstanding start from us but we came up against a team who were so super-charged up after the goal with the atmosphere behind them," said Parkinson.

"They found that extra yard all over the pitch and we found it very difficult to respond to that.

"It was the next level of game, playing against a team who have been at the next level and are probably a stronger team now than they were when they were in the Championship.

"We got punished with three quality goals but apart from that, Arthur Okonkwo has not really had much to do."

Parkinson reported a clean bill of health following the defeat at St Andrew's.

"Everyone came through the game fine so I am pleased with that," said Parkinson.

"We came in Tuesday and had a recovery session for the ones who played and the others did some training.

"We are all set for a couple of days preparation for the Crawley game."

Luke Bolton was not involved against Birmingham and the wing-back will also be absent this weekend.

"Luke has got a problem with his foot which is going to keep him out for a couple of weeks," added the Reds' boss.
