LEE FOWLER says Flint Town United have the best striker in the league.

Elliott Reeves marked his full Cymru Premier League bow last time out with a brace of goals in the 2-0 triumph at Aberystwyth and the Silkmen will be hoping for more of the same at home to Haverfordwest County tomorrow.

Flint boss Fowler told S4C’s Sgorio: “He’s a special player and now I think that (Brad) Young’s gone from TNS, I think he’s the best striker in the league and that’s him after eight weeks out.

“So, we’ve got a special player on our hands.”

Reeves’ showing at Aberystwyth inspired Flint to gain their first league win since promotion from Cymru North, but they’ll be in for a tough test versus a Haverfordwest side that sits third in the table.

However, Fowler is confident that his hard-working players will duly gain their rewards as the campaign develops.

“Me and Evo (Steve Evans) ask so much of these players and they give it to us every week,” added the Flint boss.

“So, for as long as that performance keeps the same, the results will come.”

A tough run of fixtures has opened the season for the Silkmen, but the youthful side has been competitive since making the step up.

“You’ve just got to keep sticking to the process, keep believing what we’re doing,” stressed Fowler.

“We’ve changed round from year one a hell of a lot with the age group and the style of play, and they deserve that (at Aberystwyth).

“I think Reevesy’s the icing on the cake, but I think the biggest thing we’ve got as a team is drive and a team spirit together.”

Fowler is looking at the bigger picture as the campaign develops for his side and there are sure to be plenty of twists-and-turns along the way..

“We know we’re in a league within a mini-league and every other manager will know what I’m on about in that mini-league,” he said.

“So, we’ve just got to make sure that we keep putting points on the board.”

The New Saints remain as the only team boasting a 100 per cent winning record this season and Craig Harrison’s side will be looking to make it four wins on the bounce as they welcome Barry to Park Hall tomorrow.

In tomorrow’s other encounter, Caernarfon Town have home advantage versus basement side Briton Ferry Llansawel.

Two matches will kick-off the top flight action this evening.

Bala Town, who are on a poor run of form having lost their last two matches, play host to Aberystwyth and Cardiff Met travel to Newtown.
