CALUM MCINTYRE has stressed how important stability is as Chester look to stretch their unbeaten National League North run to six games tomorrow.
The Blues, who drew 1-1 at Kidderminster in midweek, are preparing for their home clash with South Shields.
Boss McIntyre told Chester FC TV: “We knew we had a tough start. We’ve gone to Spennymoor, who’ve got this unbelievable home record.
“We’ve had Brackley come to us, we’ve gone to Alfreton... you know you’re going to be up against it.
“So, when you lose the first two games that you can do, really calm, really consistent, really stable and, you know what, probably the biggest thing I’ve been determined to bring to the football club over the course of my time here is stability and trying to take the temperature out of things.
“When we win a couple of games, we aren’t on our way to the championship and, equally, when we lose two games, even when performances are good, bad or ugly, we’ll just keep doing the right things and I think you’ve seen that.
“We’ve got a good point (at Kidderminster). Some things that we can do better, some stuff that we can tidy up, but we’ll be trying to make this a really good point with a home fixture on Saturday.”
Leaders Scunthorpe United, who are six points clear, host Warrington tomorrow.
Other fixtures: Alfreton v Scarborough; Buxton v Rushall; Chorley v Kidderminster; King’s Lynn v Curzon Ashton; Marine v Darlington; Needham Market v Farsley; Peterborough Sports v Brackley; Southport v Radcliffe; Spennymoor v Hereford.
