IT’S probably been Phil Parkinson’s most productive transfer window in his Racecourse reign.

Mo Faal, who arrived from Championship side West Brom for a reported £500,000 fee, became the Reds manager’s 45th signing since arriving at the club three years ago.

With Faal’s price tag adding to a £300,000-plus record fee splashed out for Rotherham midfielder Ollie Rathbone, Wrexham must have gone past the £1m spending mark having also added defenders Dan Scarr, Seb Revan and Lewis Brunt to his ever-improving squad.

Perhaps it’s the man Parkinson picked up on a free that has shone more than most - and that’s George Dobson.

Having worked with the influential midfielder at Sunderland, Dobson became the latest of the ex-Charlton Athletic brigade to join the Reds.

Dobson, whose move to the Hungarian Premier League broke down in July, was on Parkinson’s radar as soon as the news broke that the ex-Charlton captain was available.

And he joined ex-Latics, Elliot Lee and Eoghan O’Connell in the Reds’ ranks.

It’s the way Wrexham have gone about their transfer business this summer that has been impressive.

Funded by Hollywood movie stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, it’s par for the course for Wrexham to be linked with big money moves for players galore.

But there was an obvious plan in place with signing goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo (pictured below) the number one priority.

Then came the defensive additions of Brunt, Scarr and Revan as well as bringing in another experienced keeper, Callum Burton, before the summer tour of America and Canada.

Dobson also made it in time to make the trip across the pond while Rathbone was signed just 24 hours before the big League One kick off at home to Wycombe Wanderers.

Then came the arrival of Faal, announced at the sensible time of nine o’clock on transfer deadline day morning so Parkinson could concentrate fully on a game plan to win at Peterborough United on Saturday.

And everything went according plan as Wrexham produced a real stand-up-and-take-note at London Road where the Reds were 2-0 winners against a Posh side managed by ex-Reds captain Darren Ferguson.

If Reds fans were asked to pick a starting XI of Parkinson’s signings, it would probably look something like this.

Goalkeeper: Arthur Okonkwo; Wing backs: Ryan Barnett; James McClean; Centre backs: Eoghan O’Connell; Ben Tozer; Tom O’Connor; Midfield trio: Andy Cannon, George Dobson, Elliot Lee; Front two: Paul Mullin, Ollie Palmer.
