MOCHDRE have made sure they will be the winners of this season’s Premier Division title with two games to spare.

Joe Chaplin’s side are an unassailable 33 points clear following their 99-run success away to Gwersyllt Park.

Targeting win number 13 of the campaign, Mochdre were in some trouble when they were reduced to 66 for five.

Daniel Jones (3-63) bolstered Park’s hopes of springing a surprise, but Adam Campion (94) and Sam Davies (41) helped to guide Mochdre to 242 for eight.

Although Jones then struck 37 at the top of the order, Gwersyllt Park’s reply ended on 143. Owen Davies and Marcus Mangiameli picked up three wickets apiece for the champions.

Brymbo remain favourites to finish as runners-up after they got the better of Denbigh by six wickets.

Skipper Harrison Jones (39) and Ranija Abeysinghe (35) led the way in Denbigh’s 144 all out. There were a couple of wickets each for Dan Parry, Jack Williams, Sam Aplin and Mohamed Nilam Jayman.

Brymbo reached a winning 148 for four with more than 15 overs to spare, thanks in the main to Chris Taylor (73) and Aplin (32).

Northop still have slender hopes of claiming a top-two finish as they defeated Llandudno by 69 runs.

From a perilous 95 for six, Northop recovered in brilliant fashion to reach 282 for eight.

Number eight batsman Andrew Oates led the recovery with his undefeated knock of 80, while Jordan Evans struck 42.

A mammoth 44 extras also helped, before Llandudno’s response reached 213 for eight.

Tom Bleasdale (67) was the leading scorer, as Northop skipper Bart Ryan-Beswick (3-37) impressed with the ball.

Talking of impressive displays, Gresford gathered their second triumph of the summer with their six-wicket verdict at Bangor.

Simon Perry secured a stunning six for 23 return as Bangor were all out for 113 (Chris Ellwood 3-31).

Matt Thompson finished up unbeaten on 31 in Gresford’s triumphant 114 for four (Owen Reilly 3-43).

Elsewhere, last season’s champions St Asaph defeated Menai Bridge by 11 runs.

Nathanael Scott’s 52 was the main contribution in the Saints’ 158 all out (Ashley Wood 5-22).

Despite a knock of 43 from Robbie Jones, Bridge’s reply ended up short on 147 (Danny Ryan 4-30).
