CALUM MCINTYRE says Chester's opening to the National League North season should be judged after a dozen games.

Match number six is tomorrow's home encounter with Peterborough Sports, with the Blues seeking their third victory of the campaign.

Manager McIntyre told Chester FC TV: "This team deserve 12 games to categorise a start, because if we lose the next seven, it will be a very disappointing start.

"In the same way, if we win the next three, it's still only an eight-game picture.

"So, that's how I look at the start. Would have wanted us to have picked up more points, we always do, but we have the opportunity the way we split the games up in terms of block one to play here at home to get double-figures points.

"It's always got to be you want 10 points every six games to be in that play-off picture."

After losing their opening two matches of the season, McIntyre's side are undefeated in their last three, with a last gasp 3-2 success at home to Scarborough Athletic arriving on Monday.

Kurt Willoughby grabbed the winner in stoppage time and McIntyre added: "Pleased with the identity we're trying to put across.

"We want to be different and aggressive out of possession.

"We want to dominate the ball, but with a purpose. I want to make sure that our long spells of possession don't become pointless and become a problem."

Leaders Scunthorpe United kick-off the weekend action as they host second-placed Kidderminster Harriers this evening.

Tomorrow's other fixtures: Alfreton v Farsley; Brackley v Hereford; Darlington v Spennymoor; Marine v Leamington; Oxford City v Chorley; Radcliffe v King's Lynn; Rushall v Curzon Ashton; Scarborough v South Shields; Southport v Buxton; Warrington v Needham Market.
