CARL FORSTER is currently in a full-time position with North Wales Crusaders as he thinks about two seasons.

The current League One campaign is still ongoing and Crusaders will bring the curtain down on the regular season with Sunday’s home meeting with Cornwall.

However, thoughts have already turned to 2025 and head coach Forster is accumulating a strengthened squad that is sure to be competitive.

Forster told CruCast: “It’s constant. It’s absolutely relentless. At the minute, it feels like it’s a 24-hour job on next season as well as this season.

“So, it’s a real big juggling act that we’ve got going on, but I’d rather be in this position than where we were this time last season, losing players.

“So, we’re working hard. We’ve got lads over the line and, obviously, you’ve got to communicate with other clubs to get these statements and releases out there, so it’s done in a respectful manner and, obviously, they’re still representing their current clubs.

“So, we’re in a real good position. We’ll wrap up our recruitment in the next two or three weeks.

“So, I’m hoping we’re going to actually have some time off in the off-season and everything’s real positive.

“The excitement’s already there for me, but obviously I know I’ve got two big weeks with this current group and hopefully we can make it a good two weeks.”

During a busy summer, Crusaders have confirmed the signings of Lloyd Roby and Sam Wilde from Championship Widnes Vikings for next season.

Roby, who has signed a two-year deal, has made his mark in the second tier of rugby league with both the Vikings and Keighley Cougars.

He made his debut for Widnes against Warrington in 2017 and Roby will add a blend of quality and experience to Crusaders’ ranks for the 2025 campaign.

Wilde has played in Super League’s biggest match in the past.

He made his senior debut for Warrington Wolves in 2015, before going on to play in the Grand Final for the club. As well as Widnes Vikings, Wilde has also played for London Broncos and Newcastle Thunder.

“Next season, the professionalism goes through the roof, the competition goes through the roof and I think that’s where you get the best out of the current crop of players that we’ve got now as well,” added Forster.

Attention now turns to the club's Big Afternoon Out as Crusaders take to the field for the final time in 2024 at Colwyn Bay's Stadiwm CSM on Sunday.

Cornwall are the final opponents of the season for Forster's side and free tickets for the afternoon are available from Crusaders' website.
