THERE could be comings and goings at The Racecourse this week but Phil Parkinson has praised the players currently in his plans for the way they have adjusted to life at a higher level.

Wrexham, back in League One for the first time in 19 years after clinching two promotions in a row, won 3-0 at home to Reading on Saturday to maintain the unbeaten start to the season.

The Reds have taken seven points from a possible nine and currently sit fourth in the table but Parkinson, with a host of options at his disposal, will have to make the numbers add up when it comes to naming his squad for the first half of the campaign.

Clubs in League One are limited to a 22-man squad, although that number does not include goalkeepers or players who were under the age of 21 - such as defender Aaron James - at the start of the calendar year.

The transfer window closes on Friday and Parkinson will have to submit his squad to the EFL the following month.

Anyone who fails to make the cut and is still with Wrexham will only be able to feature in cup games until clubs are allowed to change their squad list when the January transfer window opens.

Although he hasn't ruled out making more new signings, Parkinson says it is inevitable players will move on and seek opportunities elsewhere but he is pleased with how Wrexham have adapted to being in the third tier.

On possible additions this week, the Reds' boss said: "We will have a look at a few things but the lads are stepping up to the plate.

"I am not getting carried away. If the right player becomes available we will make a move.

"There's a few of our lads we feel need to go out on loan so we are not thinking we have cracked it by any stretch of the imagination.

"But there are players who have deserved their chance at this football club to show they can do it at this level and at the moment they are doing great."
