IT could prove to be a pivotal weekend in the race for the Premier Division title.

Long time leaders and title favourites Mochdre will be on the verge of taking the top honour if they can claim victory away to defending champions St Asaph tomorrow.

However, any slip-up from Joe Chaplin’s side will leave the door ajar for the chasing pack.

This includes Northop and Brymbo, who will meet in a bit match-up tomorrow.

It’s Northop who will have home advantage as they look to recover from back-to-back defeats, which has seen them slip down to fifth in the standings.

Northop skipper Bart Ryan-Beswick admitted that it will be “another tough Saturday” for his side, who lost out by four wickets versus Bangor last time out.

Brymbo head into the weekend in terrific form, with skipper Dan Parry, Connor Davies and opener Chris Taylor starring in last week’s superb seven-wicket success over Menai Bridge.

While the title race isn’t yet concluded, the relegation picture could be confirmed tomorrow.

Gresford will go down if they fail to defeat visitors Gwersyllt Park tomorrow - and pick up a minimum of 12 points in the process.

Llandudno need a big win away to Menai Bridge if they’re to keep their survival hopes alive for another week, while the remaining match sees Denbigh playing host to fourth-placed Bangor.

It’s still all to play for in the battle for promotion from Division One.

Third-placed Mold could haul themselves into the top-two if they can secure victory at fifth-placed Connah’s Quay, while league leaders Northop seconds head to Halkyn.

There’s also a major battle to avoid the drop and basement side Buckley could do with a positive outcome from their visit to Hawarden Park, who are immediately above them in the rankings.

Brymbo seconds, just outside the relegation zone, host Pontblyddyn, while there are home encounters for Conwy and Abergele, versus Bethesda and Dolgellau respectively.

Llay will be seeking a win on their travels to maintain their Division Two promotion aims.

Currently 18 points adrift of the top-two, third-placed Llay face a clash with Bersham tomorrow, while leaders Marchwiel and Wrexham will look to make the most of home comforts versus St Asaph seconds.

Can Andrew Swarbrick copy his super over for Chirk tomorrow?

Luke Gardner’s side host Forton in the Shropshire League, a week after Swarbrick destroyed Lilleshall’s top order. In his first over, Swarbrick picked up four wickets, including a hat-trick.

Chirk seconds pay a visit to Sentinel thirds.

In the Liverpool Competition, Northop Hall will look to return to winning ways as they travel to North Wales rivals Prestatyn. Northop Hall seconds host Sutton (St Helens) seconds.
