CALUM MCINTYRE is focused on a “massive test” as Chester aim to make it back-to-back National League wins tomorrow.
Following a 2-0 triumph at home to Radcliffe in midweek, the Blues are now preparing for their trip to Alfreton Town.
Boss McIntyre told Chester FC TV: “We go to Alfreton. A massive test. A side that finished above us last season.
“Beat us comfortably here and a place that gives you a particular type of test.”
Declan Weeks’ first minute strike and a towering header from Charlie Caton ensured Chester gained their first win of the season earlier this week and McIntyre added: “It’s important for me that we recognise that we’re three games in for this group... and every player, whether they’ve been here for a while, they’re three games in and they saw tonight the best of the football club and I hope the supporters saw the best of them.
“We know how we’re going to have to acquit ourselves on Saturday to give the best we can be and that’s going to be a tough test and then Monday comes around.
“It’s the bank holiday weekend, but we move on. There’s still the opportunity to have a good start to the season in terms of points returns.”
Four clubs still boast a 100 per cent winning record, spear-headed by leaders Scunthorpe United, who host Chorley tomorrow.
The other three teams with maximum points, Curzon Ashton, Buxton and Kidderminster, travel to Brackley, Peterborough Sports and Warrington respectively.
Other fixtures: Darlington v Leamington; Marine v King’s Lynn; Oxford City v South Shields; Radcliffe v Needham Market; Rushall v Spennymoor; Scarborough v Farsley; Southport v Hereford.
National League leaders Eastleigh, who are two points clear at the top, head to Altrincham tomorrow.
Other fixtures: Gateshead v Yeovil; Aldershot v Oldham; Barnet v Southend; Boston v Tamworth; Ebbsfleet v Woking; Fylde v Maidenhead; Hartlepool v Wealdstone; Rochdale v Forest Green; Solihull Moors v Braintree; Sutton v York. Tonight: Dagenham & Redbridge v Halifax.
