BRYMBO are up to second in the Premier Division after their lengthy trek to Menai Bridge turned out to be a winning one.

Skipper Dan Parry hasn’t yet given up hope of winning the title and his side climbed the standings courtesy of a comfortable seven-wicket success.

After electing to bat first after winning the toss, Menai Bridge set 202 all out.

Skipper Jack Gower (56) and Robbie Jones (51) were the main contributors, as Parry (3-12) and Connor Davies (3-37) managed to keep things in check.

Brymbo made light work of their chase and victory was in the bag with almost 15 overs to spare.

Chris Taylor (82) and Davies (56 not out) did the bulk of the damage as Brymbo claimed 14 points.

Mochdre got the better of Gresford by five wickets to cement their spot at the head of the rankings.

Opener Chris Ellwood (58) was the leading light in Gresford’s 158 all out.

Matty Humphreys secured a four for 58 return for Mochdre, whose chase reached 161 for five (Alex Davies 38, Ellwood 3-35).

Northop, who started the day in second position, slipped to fifth spot on the back of their four-wicket defeat away to Bangor.

Elliot Colclough (50) and Pete Pienaar (39) were the leading scorers in Northop’s 158 (Idrees Ijaz 5-31).

Franco Kasner struck 44 in Bangor’s winning 160 for six (Ashraf Nawab 2-44).

Gwersyllt Park are on the cusp of Premier Division safety after they claimed a 58-run triumph over Denbigh.

The ball was mightier than the bat on the day, with Gwersyllt Park reaching a modest 132 all out batting first.

Jake James top scored with 32, as Denbigh’s Ieuan Jones claimed four for 30.

Venumadhav Peram (3-14) played his part when Denbigh were dismissed for just 74 later in the day.

Llandudno are just four points away from relegation following their 63-run loss at home to St Asaph, who made 243 for eight (Nathanael Scott 96, Will Ryan 63, Tom Thornton 5-25).

Elliott Hughes (47) and Divya Pratap Singh (45) were the leading contributors in Llandudno’s 180, Mathew Ryan and Robbie Prior claiming three wickets apiece.

Northop Seconds are 31 points clear at the top of Division One after beating Conwy by 77 runs.

Chris Brooks (55) and Charlie Collins (43) starred in Northop’s 205 for seven before Fabio Franco, Tom Sudder, Joe Griffiths and Darren Williams all took two wickets each as Conwy were bowled out for 128.

The relegation race at the other end of the table saw Hawarden Park slump into the bottom two after fellow strugglers Halkyn beat them by five wickets.

Park were bundled out for just 91 as Ben Roberts landed 5-17. Roberts also top scored with 28 as Halkyn replied with 92 for five (Mike Wootton 3-19).

Brymbo Seconds are level on points with Hawarden after bowling out Connah’s Quay for 144 in an eight-wicket win.

Jon Crane hit 73 and captain Isaac Allen added 64 as Mold posted 228 for nine in a 45-run victory at Buckley.

Lee Taylor (4-25) and Jack Whitley (3-36) bowled well for Buckley as did Connor Hughes (3-13) for Mold. Chris Geary (75) top scored in Buckley’s 183.

Pontblyddyn’s Ben Mason (62) scored half of his side’s runs in a 111-run defeat at home to Abergele, who had put 233 for seven on the scoreboard.

Dolgellau (158 for four) were the day’s other winners as they beat Bethesda (157 for eight) by six wickets.
