IT’S game on again in the Premier Division title chase - but Northop skipper Bart Ryan-Beswick is taking nothing for granted ahead of the weekend.
A brilliant win over leaders Mochdre last time out kept last season’s runners-up well in the mix for the top honour, but they will need to follow it up at home to dangerous Gwersyllt Park tomorrow.
Ryan-Beswick said: “Another tough weekend ahead, as no game is easy this season.”
That crucial win at Mochdre saw Northop move to within 18 points of the front-runners with six matches left to play.
“A great, competitive game against a good bunch of guys at Mochdre,” added Ryan-Beswick.
“We fielded and bowled well and Ben Beaver, with Matt Williams, put on a solid 80 together to win the game.”
Brymbo are now 34 points off top spot after a defeat to St Asaph last time out and they will be looking to bounce back as they host basement side Llandudno tomorrow.
“Very disappointing to lose on Saturday, but there were some positives,” said Brymbo skipper Dan Parry.
“Sam Aplin batted really well. We look forward to welcoming Llandudno and our aim is to get back to winning ways.
“But we know they have some high-quality players.”
George Deniz and Jack Williams will both return to the Brymbo line-up.
Gresford, who are still battling to climb out of the relegation zone, have a tough trip to Elwy Grove Park to tackle defending champions St Asaph tomorrow.
The Saints are currently third in the standings and they will be seeking a victory to maintain their slender hopes of winning the title.
Mochdre will head to Denbigh and the remaining match sees Menai Bridge playing host to Bangor.
An intriguing Division One promotion chase continues with a number of key encounters tomorrow.
Fourth-placed Mold have home advantage against Abergele and Connah’s Quay, who are fifth, entertain Hawarden Park.
Leaders Northop seconds, 20 points clear at the top, are on their travels to Pontblyddyn, while Halkyn face a long trek to second-placed Bethesda.
Buckley are preparing to welcome Conwy and Brymbo seconds head to Dolgellau.
Division Two leaders Marchwiel and Wrexham will be looking to make the most of home comforts versus Bersham and Llay, who are third, host Menai Bridge seconds.
