WHAT a comeback it has been for a Flintshire fighter.
Twelve months ago, Connah’s Quay’s Jack Shaw suffered a nasty knee injury and this kept him out of action for quite some time.
However, he has since recovered from this in some style - and he is now a Muay Thai champion!
His comeback during 2024 has certainly been an inspiring one and he is now fighting on the other side of the world in Thailand.
Shaw has triumphed in all three of his fights at Phuket Fight Club so far and he is only just getting started in his young career.
Recently, the talented fighter continued his rise to the very top when he became the Muay Thai international champion at Patong Boxing Stadium.
On social media, Shaw said: “I thought I wouldn’t get this opportunity again, but I have proved lightning does not strike twice.
“Massive thank you to my coach for all of his help and belief, even when I doubted myself. We are just getting warm.”
A message of congratulations has also come from Connah’s Quay Nomads.
On Facebook, the club said: “From everyone at Connah’s Quay Nomads, we would like to congratulate you, Jack, on your amazing achievement and we wish you all the best in your next fights.
“You have done our town so proud. Well done!”
