IT’S not yet a done deal for Marchwiel and Wrexham in their efforts to claim the Division Two title.
The front-runners lost out by 33 runs in their home tussle versus promotion rivals Mochdre Seconds.
Adam Jones’ 57 helped Mochdre to reach 163 for nine from their 40 overs, as Gareth Evans (3-37) impressed with the ball.
Despite a knock of 34 from Muhammad Ghufran, Marchwiel ended up short on 130.
Carmel & District secured a seven-wicket success at home to Bersham, who were restricted to 146 for seven (Jonath David 29, Stephen Skates 3-36).
Ben Sim (40), Ryan Roberts (33no) and Gwion Dafydd (30no) saw Carmel through to 148 for three.
Gresford Seconds suffered an eight-wicket reverse at Menai Bridge Seconds after accumulating 121 for eight (Ryan Williams 36). Edward Gadsby finished unbeaten on 48 in Bridge’s 122 for two, both wickets bagged by Danny Griffin.
The big scorers on the day were Corwen, who sped to 276 for six (Harry Pooler 133, Simon Harrison 42). Bangor Seconds’ response was not too shoddy as they reached 204 for five (Sohaib Khan 82).
Andy Mearns (56) and Liam Moores (5-12) starred in St Asaph Seconds’ thumping 147-run triumph over Llanrwst, while Division Three front-runners Ruthin got the better of Buckley Seconds by a 65-run margin.
Duncan Roberts (83 not out) and Murray Whitehead (54) were the leading lights in Ruthin’s 198 for seven (Ravichandran Vinoj 4-21) and Harry Sprowell (24) top scored in Buckley’s 133 (Joshua Duckworth 4-23).
The most thrilling contest saw Halkyn seconds pip Connah’s Quay seconds by a solitary run.
Aaron Thomas supplied 27 at the top of the order in Halkyn’s 79 all out (Hashmat Safi 3-16), while Josh Edwards (4-23) and Will Baker (3-18) helped to dismiss Quay for 78.
In a more comfortable outcome, Hawarden Park Seconds were able to defeat Bethesda Seconds by 90 runs.
Tom Wilson’s undefeated 72 guided Park to 169 and Wilson then claimed 4-6 in Bethesda’s reply of 79 (Ahmed Javed 3-14).
Mold Seconds’ effort of 178 for nine was enough to make sure of a 38-run success at Conwy Seconds.
George Jones (44) and Louis Bolton (35) were the chief scorers, before Chris Boulton (4-23) and Noa Grant (3-23) impressed in Conwy’s 140 for nine.
Gwersyllt Park Seconds’ long trek to title-chasing Pwllheli ended in an eight-wicket defeat.
Skipper Ben Griffiths (32) led the charge in Park’s 111 and Ioan Jones top scored with 47 in Pwllheli’s winning 112 for two.
Marchwiel and Wrexham Seconds’ Division Four promotion aims were dealt a blow by their 93-run reverse at Llandudno Seconds, who compiled 220 for seven. Michael Forgrave (32) was the top contributor in Marchwiel’s 127.
It was a contest for batsmen as Carmel & District Seconds defeated Hawarden Park Thirds by 24 runs, with only four wickets falling in 80 overs.
Steven Jones (108 not out) and Rick Kirkham (85 not out) were in superb form in Carmel’s 214 for two and John Cooper finished on 98 not out in Park’s 190 for two.
Mynydd Isa & Maeshafn experienced a six-wicket loss at Abergele seconds after setting 168 for six (Abs Dey 86). Sebin Sebastion (70 not out) led Abergele to a winning 172 for four.
Mold thirds kept themselves in the box seat to secure the Sunday East League title with their 16-run success away to Northop thirds.
L Roberts and L Boulton both hit 50 as Mold were bowled out for 200 (E Williams 3-26). Time ran out when Northop replied with 184 for eight (Williams 75).
Don’t rule Brymbo thirds out in the title chase, though, and they boosted their aims via a 156-run triumph at Pontblyddyn thirds.
Skipper C Croasdale (76) and D Roberts (49 not out) helped Brymbo to amass 269 for four and S Andrews (57) was the leading scorer in Pont’s 113 (T Emmerson 3-16).
Connah’s Quay thirds got the better of Bersham thirds by 38 runs after setting 181 all out (C Hooson 75, S Paily 4-19).
Bersham’s response was then ended on 143 (A Kesavan 50 not out, Hooson 4-34).
In a tight tussle, Halkyn thirds defeated Northop Hall fourths by two wickets.
Michael Williamson (50 not out) and Renit Adke (39) helped Hall to 192 for six (Dylan Wilson 3-23).
Will Baker (60) and Callum Ferguson (44) helped Halkyn to get home on 193 for eight (Aiden Jones 4-32).
