PAUL MULLIN has described his three years at Wrexham as ‘crazy’.
The Reds star striker has scored an amazing 105 goals in 140 appearances since joining Wrexham from Cambridge United in 2021.
“It’s been crazy, the last three years have been mental,” said Mullin, who has won golden boots, back-to-back promotions, player of the season and top player of the month awards.
He’s also written his autobiography and appeared as ‘Welshpool’ in Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds’ latest Hollywood blockbuster movie.
“I wouldn’t have believed everything that’s happened when I first signed,” added Mullin, who will miss Saturday’s big League One kick off as he recovers from back surgery.
“Obviously the documentary has been a great success and I have always wanted to write a book but I was expecting to do it in another 10 years.
“Then to appear in a Ryan Reynolds film. It’s just crazy. Going to the cinema to watch it and thinking that’s me there. Filming it was a phenomenal experience.
“But the most important part of my time here is all about what happens on the football field.
“Experiencing back-to-back promotions and the celebrations we’ve had, celebrating with the fans. That’s what matters most of all.”
Another award could be heading Mullin’s way after he and team-mate Elliot Lee were shortlisted for the Professional Footballers’ Association League Two player of the year award.
Mullin, 29, scored 24 league goals last season as Phil Parkinson’s side secured a second successive promotion under their star owners Rob McElhenney and Reynolds.
The Reds finished second to Stockport County in the League Two standings, while playmaker Lee was another of their key performers.
The 29-year-old midfielder struck 16 times for Parkinson’s side and featured in all 46 of their league matches.
