CONNAH’S QUAY and Mold have maintained their Division One promotion aims courtesy of two key triumphs.

Quay got the better of Abergele by 153 runs to secure maximum points. Darren Leach (67) and Rhys Stout (59) pushed the hosts along to 264 for eight and Lee Davies bagged five for 32 in Abergele’s 111.

Munowar Samsodien (4-20), Richard Crane (46 not out) and Thomas North (44) were the stars for Mold in a comfortable seven-wicket success over promotion rivals Conwy (Evan Williams 88 not out).

Northop seconds remain at the top following a 61-run win over Hawarden Park, who were all out for 146 (Evan Shaw 36, Scott Oates 5-25). Earlier in the day, Charlie Collins (53) and Tom Hughes (52 not out) led Northop to 207 for six.

Alistair Roberts (61 not out) and Gethin Thomas (58) were the main contributors as Pontblyddyn defeated Buckley (Lee Taylor 4-31) by 176 runs.

Nabeel Khan’s unbeaten knock of 69 helped Halkyn to record a seven-wicket success versus Dolgellau and Brymbo seconds lost out by 32 runs at Bethesda. Jack Williams (5-32) impressed for Brymbo.
