FLINT MOUNTAIN fluffed their lines in their chance to take spot in Cymru North.

Aden Shannon’s side went down 3-2 at home to Caersws and ended the match with nine men after Rob Hughes and Aaron Simpson were red carded,

Hughes (pictured right) picked up two bookings in the first half after he had given his side a 12th minute lead.

Rhys Hesden was Caersws’ match-winner scoring twice while Mike Hayes was Flint’s other scorer.

The mid-Wales side, for whom Dillon Browne was also on the scoresheet, are now top of the table.

In the only game in the Ardal North East League, Chirk AAA were battered 7-0 at Builth Wells for whom Tommy Williams scored twice and set up the other five goals.

Flint Mountain enjoyed better fortunes in the FAW Reserves League, hammering Holywell Town 6-0 in the North East Division.

Dom McHugh (3), Jonny Hill, Dylan Owens and an own goal sealed the deal while reigning champions Connah’s Quay Nomads went one better.

Bradley Barnes (3), Dylan Evans, Harvey Scott, Noah Sumner and James Hughes netted in a 7-0 mauling of Mold Alex.

Gresford Athletic produced a brilliant display to win 5-4 at The New Saints.

Rob Reynolds and Sam Bryan hit doubles with Lewis Roberts also on target.

James Johnson and an own goal earned Buckley Town a 2-1 win at Airbus for whom Dan Semple replied.

Denbigh Town also impressed with a 7-1 nailing of NFA.
