CARL FORSTER says a “mini-season” will conclude the League One campaign for North Wales Crusaders.
After sitting last weekend out, Crusaders’ push to secure a spot in the end-of-season play-offs continues with Sunday’s big clash away to Anthony Murray’s Workington Town.
Head coach Forster told CruCast: “We’ve obviously had to refresh the bodies. I know it’s no secret that we’re low on numbers.
“It is what it is and the boys came in on the Wednesday following last Sunday’s game. They had a real tough session.
“They didn’t see a rugby ball, to be honest, and then they just had a bit of a home programme.
“Two sessions to follow, obviously, over the time off and some lads have been away, some lads have stayed at home and hopefully... everyone’s ready to go for this little mini-season that we’re going to call the five games.”
Crusaders trail fifth-placed Workington by four points heading into Sunday’s big showdown.
Meanwhile, Cru are two points adrift of Midlands Hurricanes, who are sixth.
If this weekend is anything like the last meeting between Crusaders and Workington, then spectators will be in for a treat.
Crusaders ran out 34-32 winners at Colwyn Bay’s Stadiwm CSM.
