Flintshire rivals Connah’s Quay Nomads and Flint Town United have avoided each other in the draw for next season’s Adran Trophy.
The group stage for the 2024/25 women’s competition sees the 16 clubs from Adran North and South split into groups of four.
Nomads have been placed in group one, with newly-promoted Flint in group two.
Nomads’ rivals will be Bangor, NFA and defending Adran North champions Llandudno, while Flint, last season’s North East Wales League champions, have been placed in a pool alongside Llanfair United, Rhyl 1879 and Y Felinheli.
Each club will play everyone else in their group once, before the top two clubs from each group progress to the round of 16, where the eight Adran Premier teams will enter.
The competitive season will kick-off in September with two weekends of Adran Trophy action.
Nomads’ first tie is away to Bangor on Sunday, September 1, while Flint will play host to Llanfair United.
On September 8, Flint go to Rhyl and Jordan Parry’s Nomads welcome Llandudno.
The final group matches will be played on October 13.
Connah’s Quay and Flint will both have home advantage against NFA and Y Felinheli respectively.
Connah’s Quay boss Parry is looking forward to preparations for the forthcoming campaign.
He told the club’s website: “I am really excited for pre-season this year.”
“It is just as important as the previous years, especially now that we have transitioned to a younger group.
“We have kept the players we wanted to keep and everybody seems to be focused more than ever after coming so close to the league title last year.
“We are looking forward to implementing our style of play with tactics and game plans throughout the pre-season.
“For us staff, we are not going to be hugely bothered about results, it is purely to get minutes in the tank and try different things leading into September.”
New signings this season include teenagers Natasha Spearing, Keira Hardstaff and Nicole Samson, while goalkeeper Charlie Bolland returns for her second spell with the Nomads.
Off the pitch, Dan Roach and Andy Ellis are the new U19s’ management staff, while Leighton Sumner, Mason Blackwell-Jones and John Davies are women’s first team coaches.
“We’ve done some real hard work before we started our pre-season.” added Parry.
“We needed to get some things in-house right before we cracked on. We got our recruitment spot on early doors and spoke to the players we wanted as soon as possible.
“All of our new coaches are going to be perfect assets to the team and the project, so the structure seems to be better than it ever has been. The players we have signed and the ones we retained from last season gives us a recipe for us to go and do well.”
