MARC WILLIAMS is gutted that Caernarfon Town fans won’t be able to watch tonight’s Europa Conference clash in Poland.

The second round first leg tie in Legia Warsaw is being played behind closed doors after the Polish side were punished following crowd trouble.

A week after celebrating with fans after scoring the winning penalty in a shoot-out victory at Crusaders, Williams - the former Wrexham and Chester striker - feels sorry for Canaries fans who won’t be allowed in the stadium.

“It’s a shame after the celebrations we had in Belfast,” said Williams.

“It would be great to play in front of a massive crowd as they get big attendances but it’s not to be.

“But I know a few fans are heading out there as they’re setting up a fan zone.

“It’s going to be difficult; we know that. But we’ll give it our best.”

Town boss Richard Davies is also disappointed by the stadium ban and told BBC Sport Wales: “We’ve been able to have such a great experience out in Belfast and the fans were phenomenal.

“The scenes at the end were something we’ll cherish forever.

“I think it’s unfair that the away supporters are being punished for something that somebody else has done.”
