THERE’S been a major boost for North Wales Crusaders as a key performer has agreed to remain with the club next season.
Cru captain Chris Barratt has penned a new deal that will see him remain at the Colwyn Bay-based club for the 2025 season.
Since arriving in North Wales from Coventry Bears back in 2020, Barratt has become a key figure at the club and he’s established himself as captain under head coach Carl Forster.
Barratt, who played a vital role in last season’s run to the League One play-off final, told the club’s website: “I’m happy to be staying at the club for another season.
“With the recent news of the takeover, it’s exciting times at North Wales Crusaders, and I want to be to be a part of it moving forward.
“I’ve always enjoyed my time at the club, and the fantastic support which the fans show, so I look forward to continuing that into next year.”
Forster added: “As good as making some new additions for next season will be, retaining our key players is just as exciting, and Chris Barratt is certainly one of those.
“He’s another player whose had offers from elsewhere and teams in the league above, so to have him committed not just to the club, but also the journey which the club wants to go on under the new ownership, is brilliant to see.”
