HEAVY rain meant that more than half of the Premier Division contests weren’t completed.

Just two of the five scheduled contests managed to go the distance and there were differing fortunes for title chasing Northop and Brymbo.

Northop got the better of Gresford by 65 runs, while Brymbo lost out by six wickets in their home clash versus Bangor.

Bart Ryan-Beswick’s Northop are now 17 points off leaders Mochdre after they gathered a magnificent seventh win of the summer.

There were starts with the remaining three contests prior to their early endings.

It was a similar story in Division One, with three of the six matches being abandoned.

This included an intriguing match-up between leaders Northop seconds and fifth-placed Connah’s Quay.
