ASA HAMILTON hasn’t ruled out further Buckley Town signings over the coming weeks.

Buckley will open their new campaign with tomorrow’s home first round tie versus Prestatyn Town.

Team boss Hamilton (pictured) told the club’s Facebook page: “I’m very happy with the squad.

“We’ve brought in some good players, players that have made a difference, but there’s still money available.

“Listen, sometimes you’ve just got to wait about and just let things take their course and then be there to gain on.

“There might be a couple more coming in, but that again it won’t be right now.

“It will probably be in a few weeks’ time. But I’m very happy with the squad and the players I’ve got now.

“We’ve worked really hard. We’ve brought different types of players in this year and, hopefully, that’ll put us in good stead for the season.”

Defending Cymru North champions Holywell Town are on their travels to open what they will be hoping is another successful campaign.

The Wellmen head to Caersws in the opening round of the Welsh League Cup tomorrow.

Boss Johnny Haseldin, last season’s Cymru North manager of the year, said: “I think we’re ready to go now,

“We’ve had a little condensed pre-season and everybody’s ready now.”

Haseldin is anticipating a testing afternoon and he added: “We are looking forward to it.

“It will be a tough game. It’s kind of like a pre-season kind of start.

“It’s an early kind of game to get your teeth into before the league starts next week.

“We know what Caersws are about. It’s always a tough place to go. We had two difficult games against them last year.

“I think it will be close. We have got to be strong and show resilience.”

While the Wellmen won the race for the league crown last season, fortune wasn’t so kind in the knockout competitions and they departed the Welsh League Cup with a 3-2 first round loss to Bangor 1876.

“We know what’s in front of us,” added Haseldin. “We want to do better in the cups and retain the league.”
