WREXHAM players are getting used to playing out in America!

The likes of goalscorer Rosie Hughes, midfielder Lili Jones and goalkeeper Delyth Morgan were a part of the Wrexham Red Dragons side that took part in TST 2024 last month.

Now, they’re all set to cross the Atlantic once again as Wrexham continue the preparations for their second season in the Adran Premier League.

With the support of Ally, the Reds will embark on their Wrex Coast Tour, starting with Friday’s meeting with SoCal FC at the UCLA Drake Stadium, in Los Angeles.

Wrexham Women manager Steve Dale said: “Having heard the stories around the men’s tour last season, it is great that the women’s team will have the same opportunity. The time it will provide us to prepare for the upcoming league campaign will be vital in our quest to improve on our third position.”

The Reds will play three games in America, with two of them taking place at the UCLA Drake Stadium.

Following on from the opening friendly, Wrexham will then come up against Tigres Femenil U19s on July 21.

The tour will then see the team head north to Portland, Oregon. There, the Reds will come up against Portland Thorns Academy at Providence Park on July 26.

In a post on X, Lili Jones said: “Honestly the amount of pinch me moments I’ve had playing and supporting Wrexham since the takeover is mad.

“Beyond grateful and amazed at the generosity of @Ally and of course always thankful to Rob and Ryan for everything they do for us.”

It will be great preparation as Wrexham look forward to their second season of Adran Premier League action.

Following on from promotion, Wrexham achieved a third-placed finish in the top flight and they also got through to the final of the Welsh Cup, where they lost 2-0 to treble-winners Cardiff City.

It’s been an amazing journey for the team over the past two seasons, something Rebecca Pritchard has been reflecting on.

Pritchard, who scored the goal that earned Wrexham promotion to the top flight, told the club’s YouTube channel: “Even just looking 12 months ago.

“Just the standard of the team has just improved drastically and that comes from all of the training that we’ve done throughout the whole season.

“The competition that we’re playing, as well. Obviously, the higher up the standard of teams you’re playing, the better it makes you play as well.

“And I think it just shows all the work that we’ve put in for the last year and how far we’ve come.

“It’s just worked so well and hopefully we can take that into next season and push on even further.”

Manager Dale (pictured above) says the team is only going in one direction.

He said: “There’s only one way that it can go, really, and that’s upwards.

“We’re really fortunate to be in the position that we’re in.

“You know, there’s been a lot of hard work behind the scenes to get us where we are.

“But, we’re enjoying it and we can’t wait to see where it takes us in the future and we’re really excited to be a part of it.”

Meanwhile, the countdown to the 2024/25 Adran Leagues season is on, with the fixtures for the new campaign to be released in early August.

Adran North and South fixtures will be announced at 10am on Thursday, August 1, followed by the Adran Premier phase one schedule at 10am on Friday, August 2.
