WREXHAM goalkeeper Luke McNicholas has joined Rochdale on a season-long loan.
Former Republic of Ireland youth international McNicholas will spend the whole of the 2024-25 campaign with the National League outfit in a bid to gain more experience.
Initially brought in on loan from League of Ireland Premier Division side Sligo Rovers.last August, McNicholas signed a permanent contract in January keeping him at The Racecourse until 2026.
The 24-year-old made three appearances for the Reds last term in the Football League Trophy.
On the decision to loan McNicholas out, manager Phil Parkinson told the official club website: “It’s the right time for Luke to go out and play.
"He’s trained really well with us and had a few first-team games for us last season.
“We feel that for his development, he is ready to go and play and I’m sure he will be a very good signing for Rochdale.”
