NEIL GIBSON is calling on his Connah’s Quay Nomads side to stay focused to keep their latest European adventure going.
Nomads host NK Bravo at Bangor’s Nantporth Stadium on Thursday night after a sensational 1-0 win in Slovenia last Thursday where debutant Ben Maher (pictured above) came off the bench to score the winner seven minutes from time.
“We’re only halfway through in terms of the tie and there’s a big 90 minutes to come at Nantporth,” Gibson told the club’s X feed.
“It was what we deserved but we’re going to have to reset; enjoy this evening and reset in Monday and Tuesday in training, pour over the video of the game and make sure we’re ready for Thursday and get us over the line which won’t be an easy task.”
A place in the second qualifying round and a potential double-header with Bosnian side Zrinjski Mostar awaits the Nomads.
It was a brilliant week for Welsh football where The New Saints were 3-0 winners in the Champions League against Dečić and Caernarfon Town beat Crusaders in the Europa Conference.
And the good news continued with Rhian Wilkinson’s Wales Women’s team winning 3-0 in Croatia.
