JOHN DISNEY is proud of his 17 appearances in Europe for Connah’s Quay Nomads but he wants to hit the 20-game mark this season.

Defender Disney will lead Nomads out in Slovenia this evening when Neil Gibson’s side take on NK Bravo in their Europa Conference League first round qualifier.

“I think I must have played more European games than any other Nomads players,” said the former Chester full back. “I’m on 17 but it would be nice to think I’ll add a few more this season.”

Despite Nomads being the seeded team in tonight’s clash, the hosts will be favourites and Disney wants to make sure his side will still be in the tie when they take on Bravo at Bangor in next Thursday’s second leg.

“It will be tough but we’ve had some good warm-up games and Gibbo and the management team will have done their due diligence and have a game-plan.

“I look forward to these games and as captain, it’s always such an honour to lead the team out in European games.”

Cymru Premier League rivals Bala Town and Caernarfon Town are also in action tonight with home ties against Paide and Crusaders respectively.
