NEIL GIBSON has taken a watching brief ahead of what is a big week for Connah's Quay Nomads.

This Thursday, Nomads will face NK Bravo, of Slovenia, away in the first leg of the Europa Conference League's first qualifying round.

Nomads' boss Gibson told the club's X site: "We've all pored over the matches that we've been able to get footage of.

"Obviously, similar to us. The games are either pre-season friendlies or they're last season's fixtures.

"But, we have a good indication of where their strengths and weaknesses are.

"Gives us some food for thought about what our game plan against that looks like."

Quay took on Dundee United in a pre-season encounter over the weekend and Gibson added: "We tried a couple of things out... that we may adopt in readiness for Thursday and the lads executed both types of game plans really well.

"So, on that basis, it keeps the options open for us to have a think over the weekend now leading into Monday night's training and then the lads obviously travel on Tuesday.

"So, it's an intense week that we're building up to."

NK Bravo, formed in 2006, finished fourth in the Slovenian PrvaLiga last season.

In a meteoric rise, they've claimed four promotions over the past decade and they claimed the Slovenian Second Division title in 2018-19.

This will be their first ever involvement in European competition.
