CONNAH’S QUAY NOMADS will be hoping to see more brilliant goals from a new acquisition!

Striker Elliott Dugan has signed for Cymru Premier League Nomads, 18 months on from a peach of a goal he grabbed versus Quay.

Dugan, then playing for Haverfordwest County, grabbed a spectacular winning goal against Connah’s Quay at Bridge Meadow back in January 2023, with this brilliant strike from distance winning him the goal of the month accolade.

Dugan, 23, initially started his career with Swindon Town’s Academy before he then made the move to Sweden to play for Ytterhogdals IK.

After this came a move to Cyprus where Dugan featured for APEA Akrotiri and Kouris Erimis, before playing for Portadown in Northern Ireland prior to his spell at Haverfordwest County.

Following on from this spell in the Welsh system, he went on to play for Tiverton, Taunton Town and Hungerford.

Dugan told Nomads’ website: “I’m delighted to join Connah’s Quay. I’m really looking forward to helping the team achieve our goals and pushing myself to be the best version of myself to achieve those goals.”

Dugan will don the number 10 shirt once Nomads have secured the necessary international clearance.

Nomads continued the preparations for their European campaign by edging out Flint Mountain 4-3 in a friendly thriller.

After a goalless first half, Declan Poole had Quay in the lead within 60 seconds of the restart.

Youngster Lucas Gregson, Dan Roberts and Jack Kenny added to the tally as the half developed, while Jack Sconce (2) and an own goal saw Flint Mountain battle back late on.

Meanwhile, Mountain have announced the signing of Matty Scoullar, who joins the club following a short stint at Runcorn Town.

The 22-year-old, who has played for Prestatyn Town in Cymru North, becomes Aden Shannon’s third summer signing.

Shannon told the club’s website: “Matty is another great signing. He’s a very good footballer, but more importantly, he can defend.

“We nearly got him in last season in January but we just couldn’t get it over the line, so I am really pleased he has agreed to come in now.”

Flint Mountain will play host to NFA this evening, while Airbus - who thrashed Rhyl 1879 6-0 in midweek - welcome Dudley Town tomorrow.

Buckley Town defeated Nomads 5-1 in their latest pre-season run-out and Asa Hamilton will take his side to Caernarfon Town tomorrow, while Flint Town United will welcome Wythenshawe following on from their 3-0 triumph versus Greenfield in midweek.

Jamie Breese grabbed a hat-trick as Holywell Town got the better of Llanrwst United in midweek and next up for Johnny Haseldin’s Wellmen is tomorrow’s home encounter with Avro FC.
