ENERGETIC athletes have reached a stunning century.

Jo Houghton-Davies, Jenny Lewtey-Jones, Bonnie Knox and Sarah Brown completed their 100th parkruns at Wepre, accompanied by other tutu-wearing Deestriders on the 2-2 day of June!

Wrexham AAC’s Mike Robbins (24.38) was 14th, with Deeside AAC’s Steve Jolly 17th in 24.58.

Buckley’s Christopher Hunt clocked 25.33 for 20th while Wrexham AAC’s Ally Hughes was triumphant at the most recent Erddig parkrun.

His personal best of 18.38 proved to be enough for success.

Other Wrexham racers taking part were Grace Hughes (15th in 22.50), Evie Hughes (19th in 24.12), Rowena Lewis (41st in 26.43), Sarah Grimshaw (61st in 29.03), Jennifer Moss (109th in 33.31) and John Tipping (172nd in 64.05)..

Buckley Runners’ best finishers were Dave Boothroyd (12th in 22.35) and Lyn Langford (91st in 31.11).

At the Loughborough open meet, Wrexham AAC’s Liam McGivern clocked 22.60 for the senior men’s 200m.

At the Midland masters championships, W50 Amanda Broadhurst competed in the javelin (23.62m) and 200m (32.35). Ian Broadhurst’s time in the M65 100m was 13.71, with Neil Davies achieving 13.97 in the M55 100m.

Broadhurst (50.87) also competed in the 300m hurdles and Davies (60.78) took part in the 400m.

Meanwhile, in the U13 / U15 youth development league meeting at Stockport there were victories for Isabella Bennett, Darcey Jones, Katie McGlynn and Lasitha Ekanayake.

Podium spots were also achieved by Olivia Jones, Henry Ellis, Tomasi Fidow, Jake McGlynn and Joseph Perkins.

Deestrider Ann-marie Fauset took the opportunity to take part in her first trail 10k race, the Blakedown Bolt, which she completed in 69.47.

Meanwhile, Deestriders fielded six teams at the Tattenhall Tough Team event with its notorious railway climb.

Angela Deeley, Craig Davies and Matt Davies won the mixed veterans category.

Nige Parr took part in the gruelling 52.75-mile Ultra Trail Wales in southern Snowdonia, with 10,758 feet of elevation. He completed it in an impressive 15 hours and 42 minutes.

Clubmate Christine Cammillare completed the near 10-mile Moel y Gamelin fell race in 1-55.43. This time saw her finish as the fourth lady and the first LV40.

Wrexham racers have enjoyed a number of parkruns, with Richard James (23.42) crossing the line 27th at Llangollen.

He was ahead of Simon Williams (43rd in 26.27), Seren Graham (69th in 28.31) and Charles Ashley (157th in 69.53).

At Nobles, Glyn Wise was seventh in 20.30, while 11th spot went the way of Richard Westwood (20.58) at Ruthin.

Meanwhile, Rachel Nickerson-Reeves clocked 51.00 at Selby.
