NORTH WALES CRUSADERS’ quest to reach the League One play-offs has suffered a blow.

It was positive as Crusaders made it back-to-back triumphs with a comfortable 42-4 win over Newcastle Thunder, however Matt Reid came off injured and he is expected to be on the sidelines for a number of weeks.

Head coach Carl Forster told the club’s YouTube channel: “I think he pulled his quad, didn’t he, a few weeks back and he’s come back and looks like he’s done the exact same.

“So, we probably won’t see Reidy for a number of weeks now.

“Unfortunately for him, he obviously got the intercept try to open up and, obviously, something didn’t feel right and, unfortunately, we’re going to lose him for a while now I would imagine.”

It was a fifth win of the campaign for Crusaders and Forster added: “Two points, that’s what we came for. A professional job.

“Registered 40-plus points, conceded last minute, but it is what it is and we move on to Cornwall this week.”

Sunday’s match away to Cornwall will now kick-off at the earlier time of 1pm.
