MARCHWIEL AND WREXHAM continue to be the team to beat in Division Two.

The front-runners remain comfortably clear at the top following their six-wicket derby triumph over Bersham.

Venkata Kanyadari (63) and captain Jonath David (36) helped to boost the Bersham tally to 156 (Matt Lawrenson 5-14).

Marchwiel and Wrexham reached their target for the loss of four wickets, thanks to skipper Sam Shoemark (81) and Gareth Evans (50 not out). Nilanka De Silva picked up two wickets for Bersham.

Llay’s promotion quest suffered a blow with a 29-run reverse at Menai Bridge Seconds, who set 174 for eight (Cefyn Owen 47, Dylan Honey 3-25, Nathan Humphreys 2-13).

Humphreys (37) and David Wright (33) were the top contributors in Llay’s 145 all out (David Owen 3-34).

Mochdre Seconds replaced Llay in the promotion places courtesy of an eight-wicket success at Pontblyddyn Seconds, who were restricted to 141 for eight (Dave Evans 51).

Finlay Jones’ unbeaten 66 helped Mochdre to 143 for two.

Carmel & District made sure of a comfortable 122-run triumph over Gresford Seconds.

Daniel Sim (29) top scored in Carmel’s 168 for nine (Jess Jones 3-30), while Amer Jamil (5-4) and Connor Hughes (4-16) were brilliant with the ball to dismiss Gresford for just 46.

An effort of 200 for six was enough for Bangor Seconds to defeat Corwen, who responded with 124 for eight.

Llanrwst struck 146 for four at home to St Asaph Seconds, who were all out for 126.

Hawarden Park Seconds lost out by 64 runs during their promotion showdown away to Pwllheli. Craig Edwards’ 38 was the leading contribution in Pwllheli’s 205 for nine.

Park’s response was restricted to 141 for seven (Haseeb Hanif Bikya 40, James Taylor 32 not out, Harri Adams 3-39).

Comprehensive wins went the way of Gwersyllt Park Seconds and Buckley Seconds.

Park’s Michael Griffiths snapped up 4-7 as hosts Bethesda Seconds were bundled out for 69 and Gwersyllt breezed to a winning 72 for one (Shashika Meistry 40).

Buckley’s bowlers impressed in dismissing Denbigh Seconds for 124 as the hosts eased to 127 for two.

Connah’s Quay Seconds (Jack Griffiths 33 not out) lost out to Conwy Seconds, while Halkyn Seconds suffered a 66-run reverse away to divisional front-runners Ruthin.

Jamie Hughes (50) and Ted Evans (30 not out) helped Ruthin to amass 204 for six and Halkyn responded with 138 (Callum Ferguson 35, Dylan Wilson 33, Jac Evans 3-42).

Marchwiel and Wrexham Seconds retained their spot in the Division Four promotion places via a six-wicket triumph versus Bersham Seconds.

Nick Husbands (51) and Anthony Morris (44) were the top scorers as Marchwiel and Wrexham reached 166 for four in response to Bersham’s 164 for nine.

There was an unusual dismissal as Mynydd Isa & Maeshafn got the better of Corwen Seconds by a healthy 44-run margin.

Sanath Shetty had made 76 when he was out hit wicket. Abs Dey (59) also supplied a fine knock in Mynydd Isa & Maeshafn’s 189 for eight (Liam Thomas 3-18) and Corwen’s later effort came up short on 145 (Nathan Murray 34, Aryaman Arora 3-34).

It was a tough day for Carmel & District Seconds away to Llandudno Seconds, who cracked 284 for one from their 40 overs.

Tom Bleasdale (181 not out) and Dan Jones (75) compiled a first wicket stand of 275, while Shaun Wheeler (28) was the leading contributor in Carmel’s 109.

Meanwhile, Hawarden Park Thirds lost out by 148 runs against Abergele Seconds.
