CARL FORSTER is hoping North Wales Crusaders can build on a “special win” as they head north in League One this weekend.

Crusaders go to Newcastle Thunder on Sunday looking to continue their winning streak.

Last time out, North Wales gained an epic 34-32 victory versus Workington Town, which was rubber-stamped by Chris Barratt’s try in the closing seconds, converted by Ben Lane.

Head coach Forster told CruCast: “They’re the games you want to be in. They’re the ones that test you.

“They’re the ones that you feel good walking away from a game and you have that bond with the lads after the game.

“You have a beer, because at the end of the day, it’s a special win and we can’t underestimate it.

“It’s going to be a big two points moving forward and to do it in that fashion, it is always nice.”

That crucial win over Workington saw Crusaders climb into the top-six in League One as the race to reach the end-of-season play-offs intensifies.

Meanwhile, Newcastle have lost all 11 of their matches so far this season and they sit at the foot of the table.
