THE race for promotion from Division One is developing nicely.

Connah’s Quay are well situated with almost a quarter of the season completed and they’re third in the standings heading into tomorrow’s home meeting with seventh-placed Pontblyddyn.

Looking at the current promotion picture, Quay skipper Darren Leach said: “Bethesda and Conwy are going to take it the whole way.

“Dolgellau haven’t done as well as I thought they would do.

“I expect Mold, Bethesda and Conwy to be up there.”

Looking ahead to tomorrow, Leach added: “Pontblyddyn are a tricky team.

“They’ve had selection issues, but if they get their full team out, they’re a good side.

“Rhys Jones is a wily old fox! He’s done a job for them for years.”

Leaders Northop Seconds are at home to Brymbo Seconds tomorrow, while Mold, who are fourth, play host to second-placed Bethesda in the match of the day. Halkyn will welcome Buckley, while Hawarden Park visit Abergele and Dolgellau play host to Conwy.
