PHIL PARKINSON is not concerned that he is yet to complete his first new signing of the summer and insists he won't bring players in for the sake of it.
The success story continued at The Racecourse this season with Wrexham finishing runners-up in League Two, securing a second promotion in a row for the first time in the club's history.
With the Reds back in League One for the first time in 19 years, Parkinson wants to strengthen his squad and he has released nine players, including first team captain Luke Young, club captain Ben Tozer, centre-back Aaron Hayden and goalkeeper Rob Lainton, to make room for fresh faces.
There's no new arrivals so far but that doesn't bother Parkinson.
“Nothing has really changed,” he said.
"We let players go because we needed to make some room in the squad to be able to bring players in.
"We haven't managed to do that yet but I am not concerned about that because obviously there are plenty of discussions going on at the moment.
"Hopefully when the time is right, we will get the players in who we feel can help make a difference."
With the likes of prolific striker Paul Mullin, who scored 26 goals this term and was named Player of the Season for a third consecutive year, and playmaker Elliot Lee in a squad that has taken Wrexham from the National League to League One, Parkinson says he does not need to panic-buy.
With talks continuing with potential transfer targets, adding quality to the ranks remains the key.
"There's plenty of plate-spinning as you always get at this stage of the summer," added the Reds' boss.
"We have got a good core of players in the building already so we don't need to jump in and sign players we don't feel are right.
"We can wait and get the players we feel are going to be key additions.
"Recruitment is a carefully thought-out process. There are so many factors that come into play.
"We are looking really hard and having meetings with players and their agents at the moment, and make sure that when the decision time comes we have got the right ones to complement the really good squad we have already got."
