NORTH WALES CRUSADERS have bolstered their ranks with the return to the club of a former Welsh international.

Rob Massam has made the decision to return to the Crusaders having played a critical role in the club’s brilliant run to last season’s League One grand final.

Massam, from Wrexham, stepped away from the sport after the final loss to Doncaster, but Crusaders’ record try scorer has returned to the club.

He told the Crusaders’ website: “I started my career with North Wales Crusaders, and I finished it with them too, retiring at the end of last season.

“However, I didn’t finish at the club how I would have wanted to, and I still feel that I’ve got unfinished business my end.

“When Andy (Moulsdale) messaged me and explained how he’d accommodate the birth of my second child in the next four weeks it was a no-brainer.

“I’m excited to get back in the mix and get my hands on the ball again.”

Carl Forster’s Crusaders, who are currently seventh in League One, will return to action when they play host to Workington Town on June 16.
