MATT THOMPSON is hoping tomorrow isn’t as nervy as last Saturday turned out to be!
Thompson is back as Gresford captain for the home Premier Division meeting with Bangor, seven days after he helped Llay Welfare to achieve promotion to Cymru North.
Llay pipped Llanuwchllyn 6-5 on penalties following a goalless draw and Thompson said: “It was a nervy game. I couldn’t believe it, really.”
Now cricket is his focus - and helping Gresford to climb out of the lower reaches of the table.
“Bangor have had some good results so far,” he added. “We have got much improved availability now.”
