CARL FORSTER says it’s too early to look at the League One standings.
Ahead of Saturday’s home clash with high-flying Oldham, North Wales Crusaders find themselves in seventh spot, but there’s still more than half of the season left to complete.
North Wales head coach Forster (pictured above) told CruCast: “I don’t even look at the league table until the end of July. I don’t think there’s any point.
“I think the league table doesn’t represent where you are at the minute.
“To put it into context, we got beat off a point off Rochdale, Hunslet was a two-point ball game until the last seconds of the game. I believe we should have won those two games but, you know, we’ve played Keighley twice, but we’ve not played Workington yet.
“We’ve got a few more home games coming up.
“We’ve not played Oldham yet. I think Rochdale are four points above us aren’t they? And played two games more than us and they’re third.
“So, if we win our two games in hand, we could be sat around the third spot.
“So, for me, we take it week-by-week and as a group, we set little goals within the month, or three, four-game blocks and I’m very confident of where we are.
“Would have liked a few more wins, of course I would, but I have no doubt that we’ll be in the play-offs come the end of the season.”
