CENTURIES help you to win cricket matches, although it’s a rarity to see two of them in the same innings of a one-day contest.
This is what was witnessed as North Wales over-40s claimed their first victory with a 70-run outcome versus their South Walian counterparts.
The north side cracked 284 for two, thanks to Iroshan De Silva (101 not out) and A Qureshi (132), who compiled a second wicket stand of 228.
De Silva hit 12 fours, while Qureshi cracked three sixes and 16 fours during his brilliant knock.
South Wales’ response realised 214, thanks to James Breese (52), Andrew Pawlett (48) and Neil Harris (37).
Amongst the wickets were Darren Leach (3-31), Andy Poynton (3-26) and Ian Martin (2-7).
Tomorrow, Wales over-40s take on England seniors at Colwyn Bay.
