CARL FORSTER is hoping the North Wales Crusaders’ faithful will get to see more of talented full back Ben Lane as the season develops.
Lane is on loan with the Crusaders from Super League St Helens and he is set for a spot in the line-up once more as North Wales head to Midlands Hurricanes for a crucial League One showdown on Sunday.
Reflecting on Lane, head coach Forster (pictured above) told CruCast: “He’s a very, very talented kid.
“Obviously, we tried to have him last year.
“We had him for about 10 minutes and then he had a HIA (head injury assessment) concussion and we didn’t see him for the rest of the season.
“So, we’re hoping for Saints, for Ben’s sake and our sake, that his injuries are behind him.
“I think he struggled a bit last year and I think he’s one we could see a little bit more of this year.
“I’ve spoken to Saints at length and as of right now, Ben’s available.
“We’ll obviously decide what we want to do a bit later on in the week.”
Jack Holmes will be missing this weekend after failing a HIA.
Owain Abel remains out with a knee injury, but there could be positive news shortly with Forster stating his return “might be a lot sooner than we realise”.
