LLAY WELFARE chairman Keiron Fox was never going to miss his club’s massive play-off final even if it did mean he had to give away his FA Cup final ticket.
Manchester United fan Fox was supposed to be Wembley-bound tomorrow to watch The Red Devils face arch rivals Manchester City in north London.
But Llay have just as big a game on the Welsh domestic scene where victory against Llanuwchllyn in tomorrow’s Ardal North League play-off final will see them gain a place in Cymru North next season.
“I was never going to miss this match even if I did have to miss out on the FA Cup final,” said Fox, who may still get the chance to watch the Wembley final as Llay’s tie kicks off at the earlier time of 12.30pm.
And Fox, who has worked hard to make sure Llay successfully appealed against a Football Association of Wales decision not to grant them a tier two licence, hopes to be celebrating on two fronts tomorrow afternoon.
United head into tomorrow’s final as outsiders with City having sealed a record-breaking fourth successive Premier League title last weekend.
