A PROMISING season has ended on a brilliant high for Northop Hall Ladies.
Impressive Hall managed to get the better of Caernarfon Town 3-0 in the final of the North Wales Women’s League Shield.
“Sunday was a very special for the football club,” said Northop Hall manager Rhys Cooper.
“We have had to rebuild the squad this season. Two years ago we had a lot of players departing. We’ve had to rebuild the squad and start from fresh.”
Brymbo staged the final and Northop Hall took the lead late in the first half via Taylor Roberts.
Brygida Gorecka added a second for Hall midway through the second half, while the icing on the cake arrived when Daisy Allen found the target late on.
With a junior and youth system giving game-time to over 200 players, the future of the club looks to be a bright one and Northop Hall were competitive in the North East Wales League this season, eventually finishing up in fourth spot.
“We have built a young, athletic squad,” added Cooper. “Next year, we hope to be in the top-three and push up the league.”
