PAT RAINFORD still has a few more frustrating weeks to sit out as he completes his ban.
Rainford (pictured above) is serving a six-game suspension after he was penalised for interfering with an injured player during North Wales Crusaders’ opening day victory away to Cornwall.
Head coach Carl Forster told CruCast: “He’s got two more games. Pat will be back for the Oldham game and then, frustratingly for Pat, we’ve got a week off after the Oldham game as well.
“So, it’s fell horribly on the calendar for him.”
Rainford will once again be missing when Crusaders return from a three-week break to host Keighley Cougars in League One this Sunday.
“It’s tough for him,” added Forster, who is looking for his Crusaders’ side to halt a three-match losing sequence on Sunday.
“He could have surgery and got back quicker than the ban, but it is what it is and he’s got two more games.”
Crusaders have won three and lost three of their six matches in the league this season and they currently find themselves in seventh place in the table.
Forster’s outfit have games in hand over the majority of the sides ahead of them, while Keighley sit second following their promising start to the campaign.
