“What a weekend for the club” was Flint Mountain manager Aden Shannon’s take on a double success story.
But things could get even better this week for the Ardal League club.
Mountain beat Mold Alex to lift the North East Wales FA Cup on Friday night and their second string lifted the Reserves Cup the following day.
A win tonight at Llannefydd will see them crowned North West League champions and Shannon said: “Really looking forward to another exciting week, firstly a very tough game away to Llannefydd, who for me are in a false position.
“They are very good side but we go there full of confidence.”
Llay Welfare, who have secured runners-up spot, are also in action at home to St Asaph City while Nantlle Vale go to Y Felinheli and Llanrwst United host Bethesda Athletic.
In the North East League, Cefn Albion will be going all out to secure a quick-fire derby double over neighbours Penycae.
Just three weeks after beating them 2-1 at home, Albion head to Penycae tonight and coach Ian Andrews said: “We’re a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde at the moment, brilliant against Rhos last Wednesday, but very poor on Saturday against Llanuwchllyn.
“We’re hoping for another reaction from the lads at Penycae. Injuries are piling up and we’re asking players to play through the pain barrier.”
Tyler Wilkinson is suspended but Kien Morris, Josh Astley and Josh Valentine could all return.
A win for Bow Street at fourth-placed Dolgellau will all but guarantee them runners-up spot.
